About the Exhibition
Cuba. The Latin sentiment is always to be awake to the present life and enjoy its joys, which is a big difference from our culture, which is always reflecting on the past or preparing for the future.
Cuban and Latin artists convey to us through their canvases an intense exploration of what they feel and how they want to live their lives in the present, and we will experience there the 'freedom' of being able to choose the present, not the past and the future.
I hope that the life insights of Latin artists, who are always awake to who they are even in difficult circumstances, and our culture, which reflects on the past and meticulously prepares for a better future, will intermingle with each other through this special exhibition at the Small Art Museum and lead us on a more fulfilling life journey.

쿠바. 라틴의 정서는 항상 현재의 삶에 깨어 있고 그 기쁨을 누리는 것이, 항상 과거를 곱씹거나 미래를 대비하는 우리나라 문화와 큰 차이가 있습니다.
쿠바와 라틴 작가들은 현재 자신이 무엇을 느끼고 어떤 삶을 살아가고자 하는지에 대한 치열한 탐구와 삶에 대한 통찰을 캔버스를 통해 우리에게 전달하고, 우리는 거기에서 과거와 미래가 아닌 현재를 내가 선택할 수 있는 ‘자유로움’을 경험할 것입니다.
어려운 환경에서도 자신이 누구인지에 늘 깨어 있는 라틴 작가들의 삶의 통찰, 과거를 돌아보며 더 나은 미래를 세밀하게 준비하는 우리의 문화가 이번 작은미술관의 특별전시를 통해서 서로 섞이고 더 충만한 삶의 여정을 이어 나가기를 바랍니다.
